The Immaculata sculpture
The plague column in Košice is a 14 meter tall sculpture bearing some Baroque elements. A sculpture of the Virgin Mary has been installed on the top of the column and sculptures of St. Gabriel, St. Elizabeth of Hungary, St. Margaret, St. Michael the Archangel and St. Barbara on the fence pillars. The sculptures were created by L. Hild. This Baroque decoration of the town was created in 1722. Throughout its existence, it has been renovated several times. At present, a considerable part of the original work is replaced by stone casting copies.
