Kapitánsky Palác palace
The Kapitánsky Palác palace is located in the Hlavná Ulica Street (Main Street) and is used by the Slovak Technical Museum. It was built in the second half of 17th century, at the original site of Gothic houses. Throughout its history, captains from upper Hungary used the building as their residence. From architectonic point of view, the palace carries elements of several styles, due to a number of reconstructions. Early in the 20th century, the building could not serve military purposes any more. There was a school and a library in the palace; it also served as an administrative building. The Slovak Technical Museum has been using the building since 1945.
